The Simpsons
Why do we love The Simpsons?? Well, they are modeled after your tipical nuclar family: husband, wife, 2.5 children, a dog and cat. This is the perfect life, american dream. But what The Simpsons shows us is that the perfect life does not exist every family has it's own problems and it's own disagreements. The characters are overexagerations of who we all are:
HOMER: The loveable oaf, who only thinks of food and beer, but when it comes to his family he'll raise heaven and hell to make them happy.
MARGE: The typical house wife, the voice of reason in the household. The one who keeps the peace, and keeps everyone in line.
BART: Basically a good kid but he loves to stir the pot and make everyone around him go nuts. He causes trouble but it's mostly innocent fun.
LISA: The over zelous eight year old who aspires for perfection. She fights for what she thinks is good and just, she's very outspoken and opinionated
MAGGIE: Is an intelligent baby who just sits back an observes her families mishaps and sometimes gets into her own.

This family reminds us of our own, or what we'd like it to be, warm loving affectionate close knitt. Even when they're at eachothers throats they still are there for one another.

People like to see that other people are not perfect and The Simpsons are far from perfect. That's why we love them.

The simpsons is definitly an american classic. I've been watching it since I was 5 or 6 years old. That show has to end at some point doesn't it? I think the show is actually starting to run out of fresh ideas.

The Simpsons are the true definition of humor incorporated into animation. The Simpsons aren't far from the normal American family, though they differ in color they go through the every day perdicaments that much of go through. They use humor to underplay the intensity of life issues.
